Project: Mandela Month Activities Information Poster / Flyer
Overview of the work:
We were engaged to design a clear and informative promotional poster highlighting the Eastern Cape Department of Education’s Mandela Month activities. The brief called for a professional government communication piece that would both honour the legacy of Nelson Mandela and effectively present the department’s planned events, target groups, venues, dates, and headliners.The design opens with a strong header introducing “Mandela Month Activities for the Eastern Cape Department of Education,” supported by a formal portrait of Honourable Mandla Makupula (MPL and MEC for Education) and a stylised blue sketch of Nelson Mandela. Supporting copy explains the origins of Mandela Day, the United Nations recognition of International Nelson Mandela Day, and the department’s commitment to promoting the core values of quality learning, social cohesion, and a peace-loving society.A clean, well-structured table was created to present the programme of events in an easily readable format, listing key activities such as Mandela Day, EPWP Day, and the Launch of ICT/E-Learning Mentorship Programme & Matric Countdown, along with their respective target beneficiaries, venues, dates, and headliners. Official provincial branding and the Department of Education logo were carefully integrated to maintain institutional consistency.The overall result is a balanced, formal yet accessible design that successfully combines commemorative messaging with practical event information, suitable for both print distribution and digital sharing across government platforms.
